Why buy a full yard when you only need a quarter yard?

If your sewing project calls for 3/4 yard, 1 1/4 yards, or even just a little piece of that perfect print, that's exactly what you can purchase. There's no minimum fabric purchase required.

You can order a quarter yard of one fabric or choose 20 different prints for your next quilting or sewing adventure. We cut your fabric directly from the bolt in the continuous length you order, carefully fold it, package it, and ship it straight to your door.

We believe you should spend your money on the fabric you need, not on extra yardage that may sit on a shelf for years. Although, between us, we certainly understand the joy of collecting fabric!

We purchase our fabrics in bulk from trusted fabric wholesalers and directly from manufacturers. By operating exclusively online, we keep our overhead low and pass those savings along to our customers.

Our Story — From Chicken Nugget Money to a Fabric Business

Mary Jo Fabrics didn't begin in a fancy storefront or a big warehouse. It started with a sewing machine, a love of fabric, and a mom trying to earn a little extra money.

I've always loved sewing. While working a corporate job and raising two boys who were already six feet tall at age 12 — with appetites to match — I needed a way to earn extra income without taking time away from my family.

A second job wasn't an option. I barely saw my boys during the week as it was!

So I started sewing and making things to sell for a little extra "chicken nugget money."

And as anyone who sews knows, one project leads to another, and before you know it, you've collected more fabric and craft supplies than you could possibly use in a lifetime!

Eventually, one of my fabric wholesalers suggested that I try selling fabric online.

In 2019, Mary Jo Fabrics began selling fabric from our living room through Etsy and eBay. Then COVID arrived, more people discovered the joy of sewing and quilting, and our little fabric business continued to grow.

Today, we have our very own website, shelves filled with beautiful fabrics, and customers who share our passion for creating.

What began as a way to earn a little extra money has grown into something I truly love.

More Than Just Fabric — It's About What You Create

One of my favorite things is walking past the fabric shelves, picking up a bolt, and imagining what it could become.

A beautiful quilt. A handmade apron. A potholder for someone's kitchen. A soft teddy bear for a child. Or maybe a baby blanket that will be treasured for years.

That's the magic of fabric.

I love seeing what our customers create, and I'm continually amazed by the talent, imagination, and artistry of the sewing and quilting community.

There's something special about taking a simple piece of fabric and turning it into something useful, beautiful, and meaningful.

We may supply the fabric, but you're the artist who brings it to life.
